You whine and moan about what’s not fair. You have done everything and still make no money from this industry.

Well to make it easier for please fell free to put all your ecxcuses here and then I wont have to hear you moan any more on any body elses forum or blog.

Doug feeling rested now

A recession is coming - affiliates business to explode

So it’s all doom and gloom out there…well good bye to the marketeers and welcome to the world where the salesman who brings in the cash gets greatly rewarded.

If I was a traditional merchant I would be cutting back on all my marketing “fluff” now and focussing my energies on the salesmen in my organisation who are purely commision based.

Even better I would pay the salesman who are commision based and don’t work for me.

When content sites add discount code areas

Its only a matter of time before large content sites start adding in discount codes….wouldn’t you do it?

Imagine you have a site that google loves and also get lots of traffic, well why not create a section for discount codes? Google will rank you and your existing customers will get your codes and drop some cookies:)

Quidco sold to affiliate network?

So Quidco have said they will no longer work with Affiliate Window:

More

Gossip is about that they have been offered overrides, part of the networks override, and cash to work more exclusively with another network. So maybe some of AW’s merchants will go to this “exclusive network”.

If it works then the network has closer ties with the largest UK cashback site and many more new merchants.

If I was this “exclusive network” I would have lined this deal up, if it works I will then be ready to buy out Quidco. As a network this gives me a unique offering to all merchants in the future.

If I was Quidco with reduced commissions and more members complaints, plus some merchants not wishing to play any more we need an exit. Here it is, it’s a gamble but it may work. Only 3 have the reach and the ability to support the system

Buy.at - need to grow by acquisition. Have proven by buying buyat leads that they are happy to be their own affiliate.

CJ - have lots of content sites and happy to be their own affiliate.

TD - have never had their own affiliate type business….a weakness or a strength?

Doug guessing???? :)

Best looking affiliate person

Just find a picture and add a link to it in the comments section below and give their name.

Do it anonymously to make it more interesting, so they don’t know who you are:)

How to do ppc affiliate marketing

  1. Find merchant
  2. Do keyword research
  3. Load up keywords
  4. Turn off none performing keywords
  5. Goto 1

If brand bidding group then skip step 2:)

Doug twidlling his thumbs

Who’s going to turn that affiliate channel off

A scenario that may happen

  1. Dodgy affiliates and networks have been delivering a PLC merchant a large number of sales for year.
  2. One day merchant affiliate staff find out that system has been being abused easily for years.
  3. Merchant affiliate staff are paid a bonus based on sales
  4. Network are paid based on sales
  5. Affiliates are paid based on sales
  6. Who tell senior managemnte at merchants that we have been stupid for years???

Doug messing round

Share your data with google and let them use it against you

So following on from this post:

http://www.asapventures.co.uk/blog/google-to-launch-comparator.html

So ppc clients give google conversion data, Google work out where the cash is and then build comparators/competitors in that sector:)

Lets be honest and not hide behind the legal rubbish, that just feels wrong.

Google - do no evil was a term they once used - it has got to be time to change that one guys.

Doug

Who is who?

Ok, who can tell me who all the people are, please add in comments and say Row 3, Picture 4 is XXX,

I’ll start it off:

Row 1, Picture 2 is Chris ” Baloo” Clarkson

Thanks for your help

Doug confused

Do what you do best

Following from Chris’s post here about me doing my own posts and comments. I’ll actually run my blog as I have ran companies.

A wise man does what he does best and lets others do what they do best…….research is not my good point, but using the research I would argue I am quite good at.

Spelling I must be getting better at:)

Political agenda I have always had:)
